Minot-based Ryan Auto Group announced today that it has purchased long-time local auto dealership Corwin-Churchill Motors from the Whittey Family, who have maintained ownership of Corwin-Churchill Motors since the 1950s.
Founded in 1914 by Samuel Wickham Corwin, Corwin-Churchill Motors is America’s oldest Chrysler dealer, having sold the nameplate since 1924. The dealership also currently features the Jeep and Dodge lines, and previously the Plymouth line.
Corwin-Churchill Motor’s current facility was completed in 1998 to replace its original downtown location, which was later destroyed by fire in November 2003.
Neil Churchill began his affiliation with the dealership in 1925. Churchill sold his interest to the Corwin family in 1952 upon his retirement, who then sold the Bismarck dealership to the Whitteys.
