National movie rental chain, Movie Gallery, filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection today and, according to its website, the company plans to close its Mandan store located on Main Street. A liquidation sale is set to begin immediately.
The company’s Bismarck location, operated under the Hollywood Video banner, is not listed in the closings.
UPDATE: It was announced on April 2, 2010 that Bismarck’s Hollywood Video will indeed be closing its doors.

I am not surprised, I was in the Mandan store. It is dirty, cluttered, and I couldn’t find anything interesting. And there are the prices which are obscene. Gee, if video rentals are going under, I wonder why Cashwise video isn’t hurting.
