With seven grocery stores, two Wal-Mart Supercenters, and a Sam's Club, you're bound to find what you need in Bismarck-Mandan. With a total of four regional stores, Dan's Supermarket is the area's dominate grocer, instantly gaining dominance with the closure of the Red Owl stores in 1989. The original Dan's is located at Arrowhead Shopping Plaza, and is the only Dan's store that has not been relocated. Cash Wise Foods arrived in 1980, and sells itself as the low-price dealer, but lacks common services found elsewhere, most notably bagging services. Econofoods, now Central Market, came in 1988, and is the only grocer in northwest Bismarck. Central Market also has a location in Mandan. Two Wal-Mart Supercenters and a Sam's Club opened in 2005.
All grocers, except Arrowhead Dan's and Sam's Club, are open 24 hours.
