Bismarck-Mandan Shopping: National & Big Box Retailers

Bismarck is the main retail hub for central and western North Dakota, second only to Fargo within the state, and home to nearly every national chain. Prior to the national retailers, Bismarck was served by local department stores, most notably A.W. Lucas & Webb Brothers. Bismarck has had a long history with some of the nation's most recognizable names, beginning in the 1920s with chains like F.W. Woolworth, JCPenney, and Montgomery Ward.
