The Bismarck-Mandan Dictionary

Bismarck Expressway is a major four-lane divided highway that runs eastbound from Mandan through south Bismarck, until curving northbound in east Bismarck, where it then becomes Centennial Road at I-94.

Bismarck Expressway, often called "Expressway Avenue" or just "Expressway", is one of the busiest roads in the Bismarck-Mandan area, and the major eastbound road in south Bismarck. Bismarck Expressway runs through Bismarck's core business district, which includes Kirkwood Mall and the area surrounding it. Wachter Middle School is located just south of Bismarck Expressway off Seventh Street.

In addition to Kirkwood Mall, Bismarck Expressway run near other major retailers that include Office Depot, Big Lots, Cash Wise Food, and Slumberland. In 2005, a Sam's Club and Wal-Mart Supercenter both opened on the east end of Bismarck Expressway.

The intersections of Bismarck Expressway are amongst the busiest in the area, including Airport Road, which not only leads travelers to the Bismarck Municipal Airport, but also the University of Mary.
