State Street north of Century Avenue.
State Street is a major northbound road running from Boulevard Avenue until it officially becomes US Highway 83, which ends in Minot, North Dakota. State Street is primarily a six-lane divided road, named for its close proximity to the State Capitol and forms the State Street Corridor, a major business hub.

Street Street is one of the busiest roads in Bismarck, especially near the I-94 interchange, which at one time was the only interchange in Bismarck. Numerous hotels are located near this area, along with Gateway Mall and neighboring retailers and restaurants.

In recent years, the push of the city has been to the north, which has included retailers. Kmart, Menards, Home Depot, Wal-Mart Supercenter, and Furniture Row are all located on State Street.
